Puerto Rico’s growing film industry will take a turn toward the macabre when filming gets underway on a shark attack thriller penned by “American Psycho” author Brett Easton Ellis.

Filming on “Bait” is scheduled to get started in November and casting is already underway.

The movie is being described as a psychological horror-thriller about a young man “who works at a posh beach club, angles his way on to a yacht filled with the obnoxious elite, commandeering it into waters filled with the finned man-eaters.”

The shark thriller, initially set in Spain, has hooked critically claimed writer Paul Schrader as director. Schrader is best known for penning two classic Martin Scorsese films starring Robert De Niro — “Taxi Driver” and “Raging Bull.” His directorial credits include "American Gigolo" (1980), the 1982 remake of "Cat People" and 1997's "Affliction."
